There's a lot of people out there who want to be challenged, who live for the thrill of the hunt, who thrive in adversity.
I am not one of them.
The hunt is bothersome to me. More accurately, I find the hunt frustrating. Near misses, the game of cat and mouse simply irks me. It makes me angry that what I truly want eludes me.
I live for the kill. The moment of victory, that instant when you know you've got it all locked down and everything is in place. That heady feeling of nigh-invincibility. Never quite gets old for me.
Some might argue that without a sufficient amount of challenge, that feeling wouldn't exist. To a degree, I'll admit some challenge makes it worthwhile. But only to a degree. I don't like to be frustrated. And when I finally do overcome that frustration, I like to stomp the source into the dirt to make sure it never bothers me again.
What is best in life, indeed?
