The Superhero movies are a comin!

They're coming out of the woodwork, folks. And it doesn't look like they're gonna stop anytime soon.

As we all know, the Joss is attached to Wonder Woman. He has recently turned in a script to Joel Silver, so casting should begin soon. I know, I know...nobody's replacing Lynda Carter. Don't care. We all know the Joss can write and write well. As long as he does right by Diana, I'm good.

Michael Caine let slip recently (in an interview for a movie he's doing with Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale) that the Joker will indeed be the villain for the next movie in the Batman franchise.

Bryan Singer is in talks with WB to direct a sequel to Superman Returns. A spokesman for WB has stated he may go "Wrath of Khan" with it.

A Captain Marvel movie titled Shazam! is in pre-production at this time. No release date has been set.

Guillermo del Toro (Blade 2, Hellboy) is going to bring Deadman to the big screen as well.

Neil Gaiman and Shia LeBouf(Constantine, Transformers) are working to bring Death: The High Cost of Living to the silver screen.




Marvel
Ghost Rider is the next movie out of the gate for Marvel, to be released next February.

Julian McMahon has confirmed that he will reprise the role of Doom in Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer. Tim Story has stated that this time, he will be in full Doom mode, making proclamations, speaking in the third person, the whole nine. The role of Norrin Radd will be played by Doug Jones (Hellboy, Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Hush) The scriptwriter for the next movie penned the script for My Super Ex-Girlfriend.

More pictures have been released of the cast of the hotly anticipated Spider-Man 3, including James Franco in partial Goblin armor and the symbiote crawling on Topher Grace.

Jon Favreau (Swingers, Made) is attached to direct Iron Man. Christian Kane (Angel, Close to Home) is being looked at for the title role. And the confirmed villain is the Mandarin.

A new Hulk movie is scheduled for release in 2008, with a new director and a new tone. The second one will be far more action oriented than the last film and the Abomination has been confirmed for a villain.

the Wolverine film is currently in pre-production and will probably be released in the next two years.

The Magneto movie is still in development, though there are rumors that Rebecca Rojmin will reprise her role as Mystique and Tom Felton (Harry Potter films) will play a role as Quicksilver.

A second Punisher film is also in development, with filming possibly beginning in 2007.

Still nothing on the Luke Cage movie. We'll keep you posted.

Avi Arad has announced that Captain America(2009), The Mighty Thor, Nick Fury, Deathlok (2008) and Ant-Man are all scheduled for the movie treatment soon. Ant-Man??? WHY??




Independent
A fully CGI TMNT movie is being produced and is scheduled to be released in 2007. Mako (Conan The Barbarian, Samurai Jack, Avatar) was attached to be the voice of Splinter until he succumbed to cancer last week. Unfortunately, John Woo is NOT attached to direct, as was rumored.

As recently announced, Peter Cullen WILL be reprising his voice role as Optimus Prime in the Transformers movie. Talks are underway for Frank Welker to reprise his role as Megatron. You may rejoice now.

Hellboy 2 is in development hell until Paramount makes up its mind on when to release it.

Sin City 2 and 3 should be released within the next two years.

Bond is back. A new James Bond has been chosen and will star in a remake of the very first Bond story, Casino Royale, later this year. This is being considered a reboot of the Bond franchise.
